PRAYER: Let us know and serve God (not only the things of this world) !! Jesus teaches us today that “No servant can serve two masters…. You cannot serve both God and mammon.” We should not be only focused on our wealth in this world. Amos calls out a warning to those who “…. Trample upon the needy and destroy the poor of the land!”
The Gospel Acclamation is: “Though our Lord Jesus Christ was rich, he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich”
We are rich through the love of God…. Let’s show God we love him and share our wordly goods with the poor as best we can.
PARISH MAINTENANCE : We continue to study, discuss and work to put together a phased approach to Assumption Church repairs and improvements… as we work at the same time to build up the people part of the parish.
We are focusing first on boiler repair, flat roof replacement, safety upgrades of pavement and other ways to keep moisture out of the church.
