September 11, 2022 God rejoices in us!

PRAYER:   We can’t lose the feeling that we are loved…. God loves us and sent His Son Jesus to show us His love…. We need to LIVE in that love and share it with the world around us that is so hungry for love.  Jesus tells us this week of the shepherd who loves his 100 sheep so much that when one strays and he finds it he “… calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’”

We see Moses reminding God that He promised to Abraham that his “… descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky.”

Paul is grateful for God’s love for him as he writes to Timothy:  “I am grateful to him who has strengthened me…. The grace of our Lord has been abundant…”

Let us rest in God’s great love for us here at Holy Name of Jesus…. As we go forth to show and tell that love to the Chicopee around us!

PARISH MAINTENANCE :  We continue to study, discuss and work to put together a phased approach to Assumption Church repairs and improvements… as we work at the same time to build up the people part of the parish.

We are focusing first on boiler repair, flat roof replacement, safety upgrades of pavement and other ways to keep moisture out of the church.

ONGOING MISSION/EVANGELIZATION/GROWTH:  I will lead a Catholic Men’s group called THAT MAN IS YOU on Saturdays from 7:00 – 8:30 am; starting on September 17, 2022 in the Parish Offices.  Please join us!

We are looking for a person, or persons, to lead our Youth Faith Formation for about 20 hours per week to keep up our momentum with parent involved- youth faith formation and middle school ministry program.

Our next Edge – Middle School Ministry session will be on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from Noon to 1:30 pm in the Assumption downstairs Hall…. Calling all Middle Schoolers!!

Peace of Christ,

Deacon David Southworth, Parish Manager
