May 15, 2022 Love One Another

PRAYER:  Paul and Barnabas are great figures in the early Church.  As we see in our first reading from Acts of the Apostles:  “They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, ‘It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.’”

John shares his great vision from the end of the Book of Revelation where he sees “… a new heaven and a new earth…. The holy city, a new Jerusalem….”. “The One who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’”

And we are left with Jesus’ teaching from John:  “This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

PARISH MAINTENANCE:   We have 3 quotes to fix cement sidewalks around the parish with the low bid being $8,000.  Waiting on word from the Diocese before we go ahead. (one square in front of office, worn asphalt entry to front of Church, handicap ramp to downstairs hall)

PARISH ONGOING MISSION/EVANGELIZATION/GROWTH:  We have to be bold and try some things to engage our current youth and families into the power and richness of our Catholic Faith.  Sunday, May 22 at 9:00 am will be our last Generations of Faith program where we invite parents to help us teach the Faith.

Sunday, June 12 at 5:00 we will kick-off our new EDGE Middle-School Ministry!.... It will be in our downstairs hall and will feature food, games, socializing….. and faith lessons.

Peace of Christ,

Deacon David Southworth, Parish Manager
