June 19, 2022 Angel's Food!!

PRAYER:  This weekend of June 18/19 we celebrate the The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.  This is embedded in our Year of the Eucharist here in the Springfield Diocese.

Our Gospel Acclamation comes from John 6:51:  “I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord; whoever eats this bread will live forever.

And from the Sequence from Corpus Christi:  “Lo! The angel’s food is given to the pilgrim who has striven;…. Very bread, good shepherd, tend us, Jesu, of your love befriend us, You refresh us, you defend us, Your eternal goodness send us in the land of life to see.”

PARISH MAINTENANCE:   Continuing thanks to all who contribute for the upkeep of the parish.

Our Sunday, June 12 EDGE Middle-School Ministry kicked off with a small but enthusiastic group!... thanks to the folks putting it on:  Donna Marrotto, Michael Chirichella, Ray Cournoyer

We got a call on Monday, June 13 asking if a family of Afghan refugees could stay at our Assumption Rectory from June 15 to July 1.  This family with 2 parents and 5 children ages 4-18 have been in Turkey for a few years and just came to the US in the last months.  They need a low cost place to stay until they move to more permanent housing starting July 1.  After consulting with Sue and Bill Gelinas of our Parish Staff, we said yes.  Much thanks to Sue and Bill for all they have done and do for our parish and the Afghans we have hosted.

Peace of Christ,

Deacon David Southworth, Parish Manager
