FROM THE DEACON’S HEART- Feb 14, 2021
Hello to Holy Name of Jesus Parish!
PARISH PRAYER: “Brothers and sisters, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God…. Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10:31 – 2nd reading)
PARISH MAINTENANCE: We need to maintain our parish: thanks to the men who moved the scaffolding to repair 2 of the 3 front outside hanging lamps: Mike Benoit, Chip Connolly, Anton and Ben Zamachaj, Bill Gelinas.
PARISH ONGOING MISSION: We need to engage in Christ’s mission and reach out to those around us… I am working to get names of shut-ins who would like a friend: Mckinley, Women’s Jail, and nursing homes.
I will be offering Alpha Courses again starting the week of March 1, 2021. Probably: Monday at 6:30 pm, Tuesday at 8:15 pm and Thursday at 10:00 am. All will be virtual Zoom courses. A good way to encourage someone to gently explore their faith journey.
We will distribute ashes on Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021: masses at 8:00 am and 7:00 pm and individuals can come to church 3:00 – 5:00 pm during Adoration. We will sprinkle ashes on the head this year during pandemic as Vatican and Diocese recommend.
Peace be with you and your family!
Deacon David Southworth, Parish Administrator
