PRAYER: Our first reading from Isaiah reminds us that “your light shall break forth like the dawn..” if we “share our bread with the hungry, shelter the oppressed and the homeless; clothe the naked…”. Then…. “you shall call, and the Lord will answer.”….
God loves us… but …. We must share that love around us….. “if you bestow your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; then light shall rise for you in the darkness,”
Paul advises us just as he advises the Corinthians: “I did not come with sublimity of words or of wisdom. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” If we keep our eyes on Christ…. Our light can shine and we can glorify our Heavenly Father.
PARISH MAINTENANCE : Our part-time bookkeeper has been out sick so we are grateful that the company that provides her was able to get a former bookkeeper of ours back to fill in on her day off. But our financial reports took a while to get updated.
