Dec 5, 2021 - Keep praying!

PRAYER:  The Diocese held an Advent Clergy Day of reflection for priests and deacons recently that I attended.  The speaker was a Dominican priest who spoke of the amazing thing that the Eucharist is!  Imagine that our God would enter our human world as Jesus…. And that He would leave a way for us to connect with Jesus and God through the Eucharist!  Let us attend mass with renewed gratefulness and awe!!

PARISH MAINTENANCE:  Our downstairs hall furnace has been getting a workout with our main boiler delay and all the 12-step groups meeting there.  The igniter on the downstairs furnace went and we were able to replace it.  We are looking to get all the burned-out bulbs replaced around the church altar.

PARISH ONGOING MISSION/EVANGELIZATION/GROWTH:   We are having our 2nd Generations of Faith day this Sunday, December 5.  The theme is Advent/Christmas.

I am realizing, slow person that I am, that when it comes to the Church…. We need to move at God’s pace.  Kind of like Advent we need to pray and wait…. Be ready to act… but not get discouraged when we don’t seem to be able to move things forward by our our mere human will and power!  Please join me in prayer for the Church… and our parish.

Advent greetings to you and yours!

Deacon David Southworth, Parish Manager
