Dec 19, 2021 - He is Peace!

PRAYER:  As we move close to Christmas… we see in our first reading from Micah the prophesy that “one who is to be ruler in Israel whose origin is from of old…” will come from Bethlehem. And “..he shall be peace.” !!  Can we read and hear Psalm 80 and turn to God and ask Him to “..give us new life..” and can we “call upon the name of the Lord”?  Can we say to Mary as Elizabeth did as Mary visited her:  “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”

PARISH MAINTENANCE:  It seems to be emerging that we can host 3 unrelated people or one larger family group in our Assumption Rectory/Parish offices.  We do need to replace our 9-volt battery smoke detectors with 10 year sealed battery smoke detectors that “talk” to each other.  We will make this change of smoke detectors soon.  This is a consistent use of the building as it has been used as a rectory for priests all these recent decades.

PARISH ONGOING MISSION/EVANGELIZATION/GROWTH:  Our Christmas Youth Pageant will be back at our 4:00 pm Christmas Eve service.  Thanks to the 8 youth who have volunteered and Claire Bertrand who will direct them with Jeanne Jones help.  Let us keep praying that God will help us find ways to invite people back to the power of our Catholic Faith!

4th Sunday of Advent greetings to you and yours! (as Christmas is in sight!)
