April 24, 2022 - Peace be with you!

PRAYER:  April 24 is the 2nd Sunday of Easter and it’s also Divine Mercy Sunday.  We will recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy together after each of our 3 weekend masses to partake of the great graces this prayer brings us as it was given to St Faustina Kowalska by Jesus in the 1930’s.  Ann, John and I went up to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA recently and went to mass and participated in the Chaplet there which is a great local pilgrimage.

Take to heart Jesus’ greeting to the fearful disciples:  “Peace be with you.”

PARISH MAINTENANCE:   We are still waiting for resolution of the status of the 50 year old boiler in the church.  We will keep you posted.  Assumption Church construction was started 100 years ago as you can see on the corner stone in the front, outside the church.  It was not finished and dedicated for a few years.

PARISH ONGOING MISSION/EVANGELIZATION/GROWTH:  We keep praying and thinking how we can reach out to people more and more.  We have our parent involved Faith Formation program up and running and we have high hopes for our middle school ministry that will kickoff on Sunday, June 12 at 5:00 pm in our Hall.

We are brainstorming a monthly music praise night and maybe a neighborhood picnic to invite those living near us to join us.

Peace of Christ,

Deacon David Southworth, Parish Manager
